Dress Code & Technology Updates From Mrs. San Roman & Mrs. Mulcahy

Dear Fairmont families,

Spring is upon us! The weather is getting warmer so it is necessary to provide everyone with some reminders about our dress code. Please remember that you can read the full details of the dress code on our school website.

Here are two parts that I would like to highlight today:

  1. Sleeveless tops must come to the edge of the shoulder. Tops must be long enough to cover the midriff at all times, including when arms are raised, and must have crew-like shallow v-neck or collars. Undergarments may not be visible.
  2. Shorts, skirts, and skorts may not be shorter than mid-thigh.

A student coming to school dressed in a way that is inconsistent with our dress code may be asked to call their parent/guardian to bring a change of clothes.

Next, here is a reminder about technology used by students on campus. We recognize that electronic devices are an important part of our everyday world and are increasingly being used in teaching and learning. However, we want to be sure that any devices at school are being used as an appropriate instructional tool, and their use does not interfere with our students’ learning environment. Electronic devices brought from home will be kept in the backpack turned off during the school day and will not ring or cause disruption to the instruction in the classroom. This includes cell phones and smart watches. If the cell phone or electronic device is taken out it may be turned into the office where only a parent may pick it up.

Please take the time to discuss these two important items with your child(ren). Teachers will also be reminding students about these expectations. Thank you for helping us to make Fairmont the Place To Be!

Best,
Mrs. San Roman
Mrs. Mulcahy
