Fairmont Elementary PTA partners with the Shawn Knutson Scholarship Committee to offer $1000 scholarships to honor the memory of Mrs. Knutson. She was not only a student and a teacher of Fairmont Elementary, but also a Fairmont Assistance Principal and Principal before she lost her battle with cancer in 2012. Since then, the Shawn Knutson Scholarship Fund has given out 39 scholarships of $1000 each to graduating seniors that were alumni of Fairmont!
We will be collecting donations from March 8 through March 26 to support the scholarships for this year. The more money donated, the more scholarships we will provide. 100% of the donations go directly to scholarships for Fairmont Falcon graduates.
To encourage participation, the Scholarship Committee with host a prize drawing. The prizes include bicycles, boogie boards, skateboards, sporting goods, games, gift cards, and more! See the attached flyer below for more details. Prize drawing will be held on April 5 with the winners being notified on April 6.
