iReady provides online individualized instruction for thousands of students across the nation in reading and math. Orange County schools are in a region with San Diego, Riverside, and Imperial County schools who use iReady as an instructional program. After undertaking a study of student remote usage during March - May of spring 2020, fifteen top schools were identified by iReady as Distinguished Schools. Remote learning presented a new set of challenges for teachers, parents, and students in March. Falcons rose to the challenge! I hope you will all take a moment to celebrate this wonderful accomplishment. The data that this award was based on is shown below:
I am especially proud of the number of students who connected and completed lessons and the 90% pass rate during emergency distance learning. Well done Falcons! Fairmont teachers go above and beyond to prepare our students for whatever challenges they face. Parents maintain clear expectations that education is a priority in their home. Fairmont students show their PRIDE - they are Prepared, Responsible, Inclusive, Diligent and Engaged. This award is another great example of "Together in Excellence."
Of the 15 top schools receiving the "Distinguished School Award for Remote Learning Success", 8 of them were schools from PYLUSD. The other seven are: Bryant Ranch, Glenknoll, Golden, Linda Vista, Melrose, Sierra Vista, and Wagner. Congratulations to all! Well done PYLUSD!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Rex
