Good Morning Parents,
Each year on September 11 at 8:30 am, our Fairmont community gathers on our playground to honor our local heroes and first responders. This assembly has great meaning for all of us as Americans and patriots. On Patriot Day, we teach our students to honor and respect our police force, fire fighters, military service men and women and paramedics who keep us safe and defend our freedom. We sincerely thank them for their service to our community and our nation.
Even though we cannot gather together this year, our hearts and minds can unite in gratitude and remembrance. Please take time today to remember families who lost loved ones, those who rushed in to help, and thank those who continue to sacrifice for us and our country every day. It is a time to renew our strength as patriots and commit to reach out to each other as Americans who care for one another.
Your children will watch a video in their classroom today and have a discussion about the service, kindness and gratitude they can share with others. You may CLICK HERE if you would like to watch the short video.
I am proud to be an American!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Rex
